Testimonials

I have been using the Brainbox Academy since my development opened 4 years ago for all staff mandatory training.

My staff and I find Kevin and his colleagues deliver their knowledge and experience in a friendly and enthusiastic manner, encouraging group discussions and participation.

I have developed an excellent working relationship with Kevin and Amanda who are always willing to help with any queries regarding training that may crop up.

I would recommend The Brainbox Academy to any company however big or small for all their training requirements.

Thank you

A. Young, Registered Estate Manager, Henderson Court

"I have found Brainbox Academy's trainers to be knowledgeable in their field and engaging in their delivery of training sessions.  They are also helpful in translating theory into the practical realities at work.  I look forward to them providing our staff training for many more years”.

Just want to say a big thank you to Kevin for such a good training session the other week. The First Aid for Parents and Carers was excellent. It covered everything I wanted to know and I feel confident that I could cope in any situation requiring first aid. And the new training room is fabulous! Thank you.

I participated in a first aid course for sports and leisure with The Brainbox Academy. It was a great day, the course content was well presented and talking about first aid in real life situations gave confidence to help and practice first aid. Also there was great communication prior to the course, thank You very much, will recommend Brainbox Academy to everyone :-)

The Brainbox Academy First Aid Course at Work isn't just an ordinary course. Oh, no. As, if it were, I think that I would have struggled to last the day. Or, had a double espresso to get it, which would have jolted my system, most probably inducing the need for CPR* as I don't drink coffee.?

*Or, some other kind of acronym, as detailed in the readable Brainbox Academy Handbook. I have since read it; when do you EVER read the average First Aid Handbook? Er, never?

For a start, Kevin McKinley was welcoming, fun and enthusiastic. He presented the right amount of information to the group, balancing his own views and experiences, whilst including our 'limited' knowledge of the field to build a good atmosphere, within the room. This is, in itself, a real art form. Too many educators tend to ramble on, enjoying the sound of their own voices, to the detriment of others.

The one day course includes many different ways of learning using: a handouts, a well-sourced booklet, a DVD, a quiz, as well as hands on engagement. This not only broke the course content up, into manageable units, but reinforced our knowledge. As my finger bled on Saturday, I was automatically thinking, 'What are the priorities of first aid treatment?' I am NOT lying. As a Fitness League teacher, I am exposed to numerous types of potential first aid situations. With my first aid kit, risk assessments and accident report forms in check, I feel much more confident in approaching potential scenarios. There are many fear factors, surrounding first aid, the most prevalent being that individually, one is not fully equipped. However, having participated on the Brainbox Academy Course, I would now not hesitate in returning for others, or recommending it to others, in the work place.

Having spent a career in the NHS, I moved into the independent sector as a Hospital Director for 4 years until 2009. During this time I developed an excellent working relationship with Kevin McKinley of The Brainbox Academy and commissioned a number of training packages delivered by him and his training colleagues. In the ever changing world of healthcare delivery and renewed focus on quality, assurance and compliance, I and colleagues have always maintained confidence in The Brainbox's ability to deliver both statutory and non-statutory training to meet both organisational and workforce requirements. I am therefore happy to provide testimony for Kevin and The Brainbox Academy.

Andy Johnston, NHS Clinical Director

My team and I absolutely loved the courses that The Brainbox Academy delivered for our induction. So many companies come and deliver 'off the shelf' courses that are just not relevant to what we need but The Brainbox are different. They understand Care. We had a 'Challenging Behaviour In Dementia' course, 'Record keeping & Documentation' as well as the Health & Safety courses such as 'Health & Safety in Care', Emergency First Aid, Food Safety & Fire Warden. The trainer made the courses interesting, engaging and fun. We had no problem getting staff to attend the training - they were looking forward to it!

Ann Bennett, Home Manager, Elliott Residential Nursing Home.

A thoroughly professional organisation who quickly understood the brief we provided and designed a tailor made performance management tool for our management team. From brief to implementation was less than 3 months.

Lee Reed, Deputy Chief Executive Castlebeck Group

"I would like to thank you for the training you gave me and the group yesterday on one of the hottest days of the year. You made me feel proud, as well as the group and I want you to feel rewarded for the hard work you gave. Hope we can all stay in contact through The Bath Area Project"

Zak Rusbridge, Volunteer Child Worker Bath Area Play Project Scheme

"When I joined the Huntercombe Group in February 2010 I first met with Kevin by prior arrangement as Kevin was delivering all of our Practical training across our three Brain Injury sites.

Kevin used to work for Huntercombe himself and when he left our company to set up The Brainbox Academy, thus provided us with his skills, knowledge and experience of our company and the Mandatory Training requirements - he knows the Care Industry very well indeed.

Kevin and I have had many a lengthy discussions and I found that Kevin has great drive, passion and enthusiasm.  He is honest in his training approach and all of the courses are delivered at the learners ‘level’.  The staff we send on training always enjoy the Brainbox style of delivery, it’s not boring or repetitive, so we don’t find it difficult getting ‘bums on seats’.

The Brainbox courses are paced perfectly, always up-to-date and include the appropriate amount of humour to make the day go smoothly.

I’d very highly recommend Kevin and his team at the Brainbox to anyone looking for training solutions.  Excellent value and service."

"Thank you once again for the provision of our First Aid In The Workplace course. As usual, the feedback I had from staff was excellent and it is reassuring to hear staff say that they actually enjoy training sessions and the fact that your trainers interact with staff rather than just talking at them.

Your ability to manage the staff training matrix for Vision is a great asset in ensuring that appropriate staff training is identified and provided on time and efficiently."

Gordon Shannon, Vison Mental Health

"Brainbox Academy has been carrying out our training for some years. The content and organisation of courses is always done in a highly professional manner and at very competitive prices.

We would be happy to recommend Brainbox Academy"

Beverley Lomax, Cornerstone House

"I have just completed my Fire Safety Level 2 course.  As I have been a Fire Warden for several years now, this is not the first time that I have done this course.  Having had my training this time with The Brainbox Academy at their training centre in Mitcham, I felt compelled to write a few words.

The course really was fantastic.  I learnt so much and despite working long hours building up to the course I did not feel tired at all.  The staff at the Brainbox are great, really friendly and helpful.  They mix humour with seriousness brilliantly.  The course was delivered at the right pace for me and the other people on the course and I know from talking to them, they all really enjoyed it too.  The training room is really nice and comfortable and airy.  There is a lovely cafe next door and the Brainbox guys supplied us with tea, coffee and biscuits.  I won't be needing dinner tonight!

Seriously though, thank you so much for the training.  It was great and I am now booked on to do the Emergency First Aid next month and the Manual Handling course also.  So much cheaper than anywhere else I have looked - and so much better!"
