My team and I absolutely loved the courses that The Brainbox Academy delivered for our induction. So many companies come and deliver 'off the shelf' courses that are just not relevant to what we need but The Brainbox are different. They understand Care. We had a 'Challenging Behaviour In Dementia' course, 'Record keeping & Documentation' as well as the Health & Safety courses such as 'Health & Safety in Care', Emergency First Aid, Food Safety & Fire Warden. The trainer made the courses interesting, engaging and fun. We had no problem getting staff to attend the training - they were looking forward to it! Ann Bennett, Home Manager, Elliott Residential Nursing Home.

The Adult Protection & Safeguarding course can be delivered at your premises, our trainers will bring all necessary equipment.

Abuse occurs when a vulnerable adult is mistreated, neglected or harmed by another person who holds a position of trust. Everyone has a right to feel safe, and to live without fear of abuse, neglect or exploitation.

The abuse of vulnerable adults can take many forms. It can happen anywhere, including nursing and care homes, day services, hospitals, people's own homes or public places.

This Adult Protection & Safeguarding, MCA/DOLS Training Course is designed for care staff and will raise awareness of the importance of Safeguarding Vulnerable People.

It remains a dreadful fact that abuse of vulnerable adults happens within our society. Staff who work within health and social care settings require high quality training to ensure that they fully understand how to properly look after those in their care. This course covers all core aspects of vulnerable adult protection to help staff recognise potential signs of abuse and understand how to take action.
The level 1 is designed as an introduction for new staff and the level 2 is aimed more at more experienced staff or Management. We can tailor the course around your business model so learners will be more engaged in the discussions.

By the end of the Adult Protection & Safeguarding, MCA/DOLS training course learners will be able to:

  • Identify laws and national guidance relating to safeguarding adults
  • Describe what vulnerable adults (VA’s) want and need to feel safe
  • Identify some of the main forms, signs and effects of abuse
  • Explain what multi-agency working means for individuals and their work environment
  • Understand what Mental Capacity and Deprivation of Liberty covers
  • Describe what individuals need to do about reporting concerns, including “whistleblowing” in their own work setting.
